The Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra will present its Arthur D. Montzka Memorial Concert at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2017, at Northern Illinois University’s Boutell Memorial Concert Hall. All concert-goers are invited to attend a free pre-concert lecture in the Recital Hall at 6:30 p.m. The orchestra will perform the Symphonic Suite from On the Waterfront, by Leonard Bernstein; Symphony No. 4 in A Major, Op. 90 (“Italian”), by Felix Mendelssohn; and Concerto for Violin in D Major, by Erich Wolfgang Korngold, featuring Maya Anjali Buchanan, violin soloist. Buchanan is the winner of this year’s Arthur D. Montzka Young Artists Concerto Competition. This concert is supported in part by the Montzka family, the Mary E. Stevens Concert Trust, and WNIU/WNIJ station sponsorship.
