“$38,000 FOR A FRIENDLY FACE” OPENS THURS., SEPT. 14, AT STAGE COACH PLAYERS THEATER, RUNS THROUGH SUN., SEPT. 24

DEKALB, IL — How do you celebrate the life of a woman who was universally despised? In the case of $38,000 for a Friendly Face,” it’s with some hearty laughs, a warm meal, exactly three flowers, and a peek into the lives of 7 unique characters who have been brought together by the death of Bronwyn Bain. Written by Kristin Shepherd, the play opens Thurs., Sept. 14, 2017, at 7:30 p.m. with shows through Sun., Sept. 24, at the Stage Coach Players theater, 126 S. 5th St., in DeKalb.

“38,000 for a Friendly Face” is directed by David Booth with Assistant Director Darlene Hillman, the same team responsible for bringing “Dixie Swim Club” to uproarious life in the 2016 Stage Coach Players’ season. The “38,000 for a Friendly Face” cast includes Chris Porterfield as the Funeral Director, Sarah Romero and Amaria Vondran as Bain’s daughters, Jan Booth, Janette Jacobs, and Megan Hampton as the three members of the “last supper committee,” and Blythe Schwaller as the flower delivery girl. Tickets are $15 each for adults and $13 for children and seniors and are available by phone at (815) 758-1940, online at stagecoachers.com, or in person at the box office.
